Charming Train Pin with Dangling Charms

This little double pin is just darling. It has a 3 piece train all connected to each other and 9 little charms hanging from it. There is a ballerina, rocking horse, baseball bat, football, baseball, bear, safety pin, frog, a tiny bear. I have no idea what type of metal it is, the pin is not marked. It has a tarnished look which I believe is the way it was made. It has a pin on the back of two of the pieces, see the back picture. It is in excellent condition and measures 2" wide. From the top of the train to the bottom of the longest charm is 1 1/2" (baseball bat). I am unsure whether the empty loops at the top of the end pieces were attached to something.
